Thank you for doing this blog, I enjoy some of the behind the scenes insight. Especially coming from DJ's son! When people ask me about being a fan, (my license plate is a vanity plate w/88, my phone is the 88 and my 6 yr old son's name is Jarrett),the one thing I always say is, "Dale Jarrett is a fine specimen of a man, in all ways." Never having had the pleasure of meeting or speaking with him personally, I have had to form my opinion through watching and listening to the way he speaks in the media, races clean, presents himself and looks! He is always pleasant, well mannered, a gentleman on and off the track, with great blue eyes, a wonderful smile and a face any woman would look forward to going home too!!! Like I say, "a fine specimen". I will sorely miss him next year. This year has been difficult for all of us. I'm always pulling for the team. He has nothing to prove. He will always be a champ. I hope his broadcast career will be successful. Don't know what I'd do if he wasn't in my living room on Sundays while I'm munching on salsa and chips! I don't know who I'll be rooting for now. There's competition in my house, Hubby likes Labonte, my 11 yr old and Jarrett like Jr., my oldest, who races locally, and I are torn, he was a Dale Sr fan, since his death, hasn't had a true fav. We'd like to see Denny do well, but Michael seems to be one we all agree is a sentimental fav. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful and sparkling holiday season. Make it a gr8ful day! I think many feel Dale could still win races if he was with a team liek Gobbs, RCR, etc. Dale should look back on his career with pride and I feel there are many drivers out there who can still get the job done... but it takes an entire team to make that happen in today's comeptitive climate in Cup.... I see Dale following Ned's footsteps as a popular and very well respected broadcaster... I know Dale is very competitive... now he can just challenge Rusty, Andy and the Fox guys on who will win the first sports emmy of the season....take care and best wishes...Timtsouthershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00869021593784567742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35815212.post-89988555871632821702007-10-23T20:49:00.000-04:002007-10-23T20:49:00.000-04:00Best of luck to you Jason. Disappointed DJ's career as a driver is ending but, "all good things..."<BR/>I think I will still follow the 44. Thank you for sharing your thoughts this past season. We wish you and your dad only the best in the future. What an honor it has been to be a diehard fan of Dale Jarrett!Donninoreply@blogger.com
