Lately we have he...You are wise beyond your years! Lately we have heard of a few young up and comers getting into trouble with drugs in NASCAR. Something we did not hear about in years gone by. Drugs have been around for a long time, so why now? What is different that these kids that seem to be on top of the world are going down this path? Is it because they never had much money and now suddenly find themselves with it and fall victim to friends or outside forces? Do drug dealers search you guys out because they know you have money?

I am glad that there is no union in nascar or the outcome would be much different. I give Nascar credit for having a 0 tolerance policy on this and stick to there guns. They give people a second chance, the give them direction and help, but then it is up to the offender.

What you do on the track and off the track does matter. You always need to hold yourself to high standards. When you are a public figure, be it race car driver, wrestler, football player etc. to film stars, to Senators and Congressmen, you have no real private life. You have put yourself out there for us to watch and read about and we do expect you to live your lives as roll models for kids. It is a heavy burden to carry but you ( not just you personally) choose this kind of life and must except the responsibilities that come with it.Cindy Wnoreply@blogger.com
